The 3rd China Yichang  Three Gorges International Tourism Festival was held in Yichang during September to October,2002.The 3rd Trade & Investment Negotiation of the Three Gorges International Tourism Festival was held simultaneously.

Yichang holds the "Three Gorges International Tourism Festival" once every year.It aims at developing the Three Gorges regional tourism,communicating with merchants at home and abroad, enhancing foreign guests to know better of Yichang and the Three Gorges.

The Third China Yichang Three Gorges International Dragon Boat Rally

On May 1,2002, the Opening Ceremony of the Third China Yichang Three Gorges International Dragon Boat Rally was held on the waterway of the world-famous Gezhouba Dam in Yichnag.The race was sponsored by China National Sports Bureau, China Dragon Boat Association,Hubei Provincial Sports Bureau and Yichang Municipal Government. 24 teams with more than 650 athletes, coaches and judges from America, England, Australia and an audience of over 100,000 at home and abroad attended the unprecedented grand ceremony.
