The 2nd-Phase Agricultural Cooperant Items in Aid of Guinea-Bissau (2001)
The first phase cooperant items in aid of Guinea-Bissau by the Chinese government,undertaken by Yichang International Economic & Technique Co.,Ltd, were finished satisfactorily within two years. The excellent work done by the technique experts from the implementation units of Yichang has gained good reputation from the Guinea-Bissau government,the Guinea-Bissau Embassy of the People's Republic of China and the Food and Agriculture Organization Of The United Nations. With the approvement of the China National Foreign Trading and Economic Bureau,the second phase agricultural cooperant items will also be carried out by Yichang International Economic &Technique Co.,Ltd and it will be finished before Agust,2003.

The First Visit to Taiwan from Yichang Branch of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT)
On Jan 8,2001,a delegation from Yichang Branch of CCPIT went to Taiwan for a seven-day visit.They visited many famous Taiwan enterprises and talked over with more than 40 Taiwan investors and merchants.They signed trading contracts valuing USD 4 million including an agreement with an annual export of 5,000 tons of phosphorite powder.

American expert Agricola was awarded "Bian Zhong Prize"
In September 2001,an American economist Agricola,was awarded the "Bian Zhong (an ancient Chinese chime with 12 bells) Prize" by Hubei Provincial Govenment because of his great contribution to the development of the industrialization of Yichang tangerine fruit industry.He was engaged as a senior adviser of the industiralization of tangerine industry by Yichang Municipal Government in 2000.

Project of the Moving and Rebuilding of Yichang Cement Factory Achieved Success
The moving and rebuilding of Yichang Cement Factory is one of the subordinate projects of the environmental pollution management using the World Bank loan taken by the Hubei Province.It is also one of the key items of Yichang urban industrial pollution management.The accumulative investment is RMB130 million yuan (USD 15.7 million).The rebult factory was put into operation on September 28,2001 with a production capability of 600 T/d.
