Stone Culture
The
Yangtze River Valley is regarded by many people as a magnificent
nature museum.It also gained the fame as a treasure-house of the
splendid stone culture.
The marvelous Three Gorges Stone is of various kinds and with high
quality. It is a natural jewelry gifted to the human being by the
great nature, among which the chromatic ones with strange shapes
and patterns are the most famous.
The Three Gorges Stone which long enjoys the reputation as"the
poem of the Stone Culture" is a kind of "Egg-shape Stone"
featuring the natural beauty.It can be found everywhere in the
river shoal big or small. The stones have different
characteristics.Some of them have unique patterns or Chinese
characters which forms a marvellous picture; Some have strange
shapes resembling special figures and some show dazzling and
resplendent colors.
The Three Gorges belt,whose ancient name was Jin Mountain,have the
famous folk tale of "Heshibi Stone" spreading for thousands of
years.This precious stone,named "Heshibi",was kept by ancient
emperors as "National Treasure" for dynasties and it is said that
the "Heshibi Stone" worth the same value of a whole city.
The Three Gorges stones are of good quality in the
world.Particularly those from the Qingjiang River are more
colorful and with wonderful shapes.They have gained many big
awards in the national stone exhibitions. Over 200 categories of
the Three Gorges Stones have been discovered till now.
